Oscar de Buen Richkarday, Deputy Minister for Infrastructure, Ministry of Communications and Transport, Mexico
D. ROUSSET:
Mr Hubert Peigné, Dear president, are you ready to hand over the torch?
H. PEIGNE:
Yesterday, no. Today, yes.
PARIS 2007, it will be finished in a few moments. The torch burns my hands, and I have a burning desire to pass it to your hands. 2011, it is in 4 years, that is to say, is very soon.
D. ROUSSET:
Do you have any advice to give to your successor?
H. PEIGNE:
To listen, to go to the meeting of the World Road Community - but perhaps he knows it already, better than I did 4 years ago?
We all know the caricature which is made - the people who have only the idea to spread more concrete and bitumen, to count more trucks and cars on their roads each year. But the reality of this community is that, each day a little more, they are humble people (like any scientist), human, impassioned by team work, the service of their fellow-citizens, the planet.
You know, to realize that and to take part in it over 4 years, it is true happiness. And I predict 4 years of happiness and work in support of my successor if it or it with A heart, with a team of friends from his country, to go to the meeting of this community.
